Overview

Here at AstroBeam, we are looking for a skilled and self motivated Unity Systems Engineer to create amazing VR games. In this role you will be planning, prototyping, and implementing game systems, as well as other back-end systems. This role requires someone who is motivated, a self starter, and has strong communication skills. While AstroBeam is based out of Austin, TX, this is a remote role within the US.

Responsibilities

  • Take initial concepts from prototypes to production

  • Tackle performance and debugging issues

  • Identifying and refactoring problematic code

  • Integrating external systems into Unity i.e. web service, etc.

  • Work with other engineers and designers to solve complex architectural problems

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a Unity Engineer

  • Strong debugging skills and understanding of application performance

  • Solid grasp of object-oriented programming concepts and software design patterns

  • C# programming language

  • Experience working in Unity Game Engine

  • Strong communication skills for working with a remote team

Bonus

  • Virtual Reality experience

  • Experience with Jenkins or other continuous integration tools

  • Familiar with writing Unity Editor tools

  • Experience working with Large Language Models

  • Multiplayer Networking
