About Us

Dognosis is a deep-tech health startup building next-gen biosensing systems - starting with dogs. Our flagship product, BreatheEasy, uses scent-detection hardware and real-time analytics to identify disease biomarkers non-invasively. We work at the intersection of biology, hardware, and software to turn breakthrough science into practical diagnostics. Backed by early clinical collaborations, we're a fast-moving team building the future of health tech.

Job Description

We're looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer (Wearables & Robotics) to join our on-site team in Malleshwaram, Bangalore. We build hardware for canine biosensing, including DogSense, a wearable brain-computer interface and sensor suite for dogs. In this role, your primary focus will be on designing and prototyping wearable systems: sensor housings, BCI helmets, and integrated enclosures that balance comfort, precision, and robustness in a living, mobile subject.
You’ll work across the full mechanical development cycle - from concept sketches to CAD, simulation, prototyping, and iteration. You’ll design enclosures for EEG and motion sensors, build modular and ergonomic helmet systems, and optimize for fit, airflow, durability, and data quality. You’ll also support integration with robotic systems (like SniffSpace) and contribute to broader product design as needed. This is a deeply hands-on R&D role, ideal for someone excited to work at the intersection of wearables, animals, and engineering.

Requirements

  • Strong CAD expertise (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)

  • Ability to perform FEA simulations (Ansys, Fusion 360, etc.)

  • Deep understanding of mechanical fundamentals: material selection, GD&T, fluidic, dynamics, etc.

  • Hands-on experience with prototyping, fabrication, and iterative testing

  • Ability to optimize systems under real-world constraints

  • Experience with mechanical integration, documentation, vendor management

Bonus Skills

  • Scripting in Fusion 360 or Blender for parametric design

  • Experience in biomechanics, robotics, or automation

  • Familiarity with sensors, actuators, pneumatic or electro-mechanical systems
