VR is about to become the most joyful, chaotic, unexpectedly-sweaty way to move your body and FitXR is right on top of that wave.
It won't go mainstream because of shiny ads. It’s gonna be the diehards. The misfits. The VR weirdos. The heroes who already live half their life inside a headset and proudly post their fogged-up lenses on Reddit.
Your job? Lead them. Shape them. Meme with them.
This Community Lead role is where culture happens. You’ll design the playbook, set the vibes and grow a global fandom around a VR experience that secretly counts as fitness (but like… fun fitness).
If you’ve ever dreamed of taking a niche VR subculture and evolving it into a movement people identify with then, yeah, this is your moment.
Live in the community. Discord, Facebook Groups, WhatsApp, Reddit — you’re not “moderating.” You’re in the trenches, replying like a real human with thumbs and emotions.
Grow us 5–10x. For real. You’ll build the systems, rituals, and delightful chaos that make more people join… and stick around because it feels like home.
Upgrade engagement from “chatting” → “culture.” Think inside jokes, recurring rituals, weird little traditions only the community understands. Make it feel alive even when the headset is off.
Team up with creators. Coaches, VR content folks, player voices - you’ll collab, spotlight, co-host, give early access and basically make creators feel OP in our world.
Be the community ↔ product bridge. You’ll spot patterns, track vibes, surface the “everyone is yelling about this feature” insights, and help shape what we build next.
Experiment like a mad scientist. New platforms? New community formats? New rituals? If it’s interesting, you’re testing it. And if it works, you’re scaling it.
Become a face of FitXR. People will know your name. In Discord threads. In subreddits. In livestream chats. Even IRL if you willingly go outside.
You’re VR-native and actually play - not just “I tried Beat Saber once at my cousin’s barbecue"
”You’ve built or led a gaming/VR community people still talk about
Tools? Bots? Automations? AI workflows? You tinker. You optimize. You enjoy the wizardry.
You know metrics - growth, engagement, sentiment, referrals, creator output… you speak the language
Chaos doesn’t rattle you - ambiguity is your natural habitat
You’ve built at least one thing from scratch that changed the game
You like the idea of going from solo operator → team lead in ~2 years
You genuinely believe XR + fitness is the future… and that “exercise” can come disguised as play
You’ve done support tickets or brand socials but never built a community identity
You want a big team on day one - this role starts scrappy
You take online negativity personally (this is the internet)

FitXR is a fitness technology company working at the cutting edge of VR and MR, building a movement for movement.
We started life in 2016 in a garden shed in the UK. Today, we’re building FitXR, one of the top-downloaded apps on the Meta Quest store. We’ve raised close to $30m from top investors such as Maveron, Hiro, and BoostVC.
We've built a growing range of fitness studios, from box workouts with world-class trainers like Olympian Nicola Adams to immersive Zumba dance classes. While nothing compares to trying it yourself, you can watch a trailer here.
Our team is distributed across Europe and the US. We’re guided by our Principles of Play: four core beliefs about how we treat each other and our community. We make space for every voice, believe in the importance of a learner’s mindset, and prioritize team success over individual glory.
FitXR is available on Meta Quest 2 & 3 and has been downloaded by over a million people worldwide and featured in Forbes, Empire, T3, Washington Post, Men's Health, GQ and more.
FitXR have been rated one of the top 10 Most Promising Startups, #2 in Flexa's most flexible VR startups and #28 in Tempo's top 100 super startups to work for 🎉
