The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Accounting Manager to oversee and actively manage the company’s accounting operations. This role requires a detail-oriented leader with strong technical accounting expertise, a proactive approach to problem solving, and the ability to roll up their sleeves to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. The Senior Accounting Manager will be deeply involved in day-to-day accounting tasks and process improvements while ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. This role will report to the Head of Finance & Accounting.

Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare, review, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Actively perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

General Ledger Management: Oversee and maintain the general ledger, including hands-on journal entry preparation, review, and posting for accruals, prepayments, and adjustments.

Month-End Close: Lead and actively participate in the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is accurate.

Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage and execute AP/AR processes, including invoice processing, payment approvals, and collections, while mentoring team members.

Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in accounting processes, implement streamlined workflows, and leverage technology to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a small accounting team, providing hands-on training, guidance, and performance feedback to ensure high standards of work.

Compliance & Audits: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors, preparing schedules and documentation.

Ad-Hoc Projects: Take on special projects, such as system implementations, tax filings, or financial analysis, with a hands-on approach to execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA certification strongly preferred.

7+ years of progressive accounting experience

Advanced knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Hands-on experience with ERP systems (e.g., Netsuite, MSFT Dynamics, etc), Accounts Payable systems (e.g. Bill.com, Ramp, etc.), and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Proven ability to perform complex account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis.

Strong leadership skills with a collaborative, roll-up-your-sleeves mentality.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Exceptional communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams, auditors, and senior leadership.

Compensation and Benefits:

Base salary range for this role is $140,000 - $200,000 and equity in the company

Salary will be based on several factors including, but not limited to: knowledge and skills, education, and experience level
