K2 is building the largest and highest-power satellites ever flown, unlocking performance levels previously out of reach across every orbit. Backed by $450M from leading investors including Altimeter Capital, Redpoint Ventures, T. Rowe Price, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Alpine Space Ventures, and others with an additional $500M in signed contracts across commercial and US government customers – we’re mass-producing the highest-power satellite platforms ever built for missions from LEO to deep space.

The rise of heavy-lift launch vehicles is shifting the industry from an era of mass constraint to one of mass abundance, and we believe this new era demands a fundamentally different class of spacecraft. Engineered to survive the harshest radiation environments and to fully capitalize on today’s and tomorrow’s massive rockets, K2 satellites deliver unmatched capability at constellation scale and across multiple orbits.

With multiple launches planned through 2026 and 2027, we're Building Bigger to develop the solar system and become a Kardashev Type II (K2) civilization. If you are a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and you're excited about contributing to the success of a groundbreaking Series C space startup, we’d love for you to apply.

The Role

You will be responsible for ensuring the timely availability of materials needed to support production and customer demand. You’ll manage material requirements planning (MRP), monitor inventory levels, and coordinate with suppliers, procurement, and production teams to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing excess and shortages. A key part of your role will include creating and maintaining a Clear-to-Build report to identify potential material shortages, track component readiness, and ensure production can proceed without delays. You’ll analyze forecasts, monitor material usage, and adjust plans to meet changing production schedules or supply chain disruptions. You’ll also identify opportunities to improve material flow, reduce lead times, and enhance supply reliability. Collaboration across departments will be essential as you help drive efficiency, accuracy, and continuity throughout the supply chain.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage demand plans, ensuring accurate inputs within plans and the Bills of Material feeding into those plans
  • Create and manage Clear to Build reporting to provide visibility to stakeholders
  • Provide forecasts to the Supply Chain team
  • Manage digital allocation of material in MRP
  • Work cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Engineering, Production, and Finance and Accounting teams to develop processes for working within MRP and related data

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience of material planning or supply chain management in the aerospace industry
  • Experience working with MRP in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong understanding of demand planning, supply allocation, and management of master data
  • Ability to collaborate in a cross-functional environment with engineering, production, and finance
  • Ability to travel up to 25-50% of the time

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, finance, electrical, aerospace, mathematics, or other relevant engineering discipline
  • 2+ years in a new product introduction environment
  • Prior experience planning for space grade material
  • Experience implementing AS9100 or completing AS9100 audits

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base salary range for this role is $90,000 - $130,000 + equity in the company
  • Salary will be based on several factors including, but not limited to: knowledge and skills, education, and experience level
  • Comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision coverage, life insurance, paid parental leave, and many other perks

If you don’t meet 100% of the preferred skills and experience, we encourage you to still apply! Building a spacecraft unlike any other requires a team unlike any other and non-traditional career twists and turns are encouraged!
