Position Overview:
Solideon is a two-year-old company shifting from an R&D mindset toward production. The Director of Operations will report to the CEO and be a key member in developing scalable habits for a software-driven manufacturing solution. This role is for someone who loves to work hard, believes nothing is impossible, and is willing to roll up their sleeves and get dirty.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the efforts to ensure Solideon’s 20,000 sq. ft. factory in Berkeley, CA, is running smoothly
- Assist with the implementation of ISO9001, AS9100D, and other manufacturing and operational standards
- Build out the processes that enable the successful completion and delivery of customer parts
- Develop an operation plan for forward-deployed manufacturing cells
- Help facilitate future Department of Defense contract opportunities
- Work closely with the R&D and Manufacturing teams to develop processes to reduce operational efficiencies to transition from an R&D mindset toward production
- Manage vendors, suppliers, partners, as well as internal and external stakeholders
- Audit and implement steps to improve operational procedure
- Leadership and organization for special projects
- Lead the operations and engineering team to ensure customer satisfaction is high
Qualifications:
- Bachelors or Masters degree in mechanical engineering, supply chain management, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in an advanced manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of experience at a high-growth, venture-backed hardware company
- May require eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level.
Preferred Skills:
- Ability to communicate in Spanish, in addition to English
- Greenbelt or higher in Six Sigma
- Capable use of general and power tools
- Basic carpentry, welding, or metal fabrication skills
