Position Description:
Starfish Space is growing fast and looking for a Controller to round out our finance team. You will own the traditional Controller responsibilities like accounting and reporting, but that's not all - you will also drive operational improvements across finance and supply chain, and help with strategic finance initiatives if you desire. Finance is a lean team at Starfish; we value people who can contribute across a range of topics, and actively carve out ways for you to expand your impact outside your core responsibilities. Thus, we are looking for a versatile, all-around athlete who is excited to lead accounting and reporting while broadening their skill set.

Requirements:
- US person (citizen or permanent resident)
- Willing to work from our Tukwila, WA headquarters several days per week
- Capable of working a dynamic, fast-paced startup environment where job tasks change regularly and there are few established processes
- Accounting, finance, or similar work experience that has prepared you for the Controller role. * No specific certification or degree is required
- Desire to work on topics beyond accounting and reporting - e.g. fundraising, capital management, FP&A, vendor management, etc.
- Willingness to "get into the weeds" with accounting, models, and the day-to-day finance tasks to run a business
Desired Experience:
- Excellent written and verbal skills along with a high level of professionalism and integrity
- Previous experience owning and solving challenging finance & vendor problems in a startup environment
- Previous startup, finance, or consulting experience
- Previous exposure across disciplines within corporate finance
ITAR Requirements To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
